Disadvantages

 

For taking an optional disadvantange (or accidentally or purposely gaining one later), a character may roll their hitpoints and mana twice at gaining a level, and chose the highest roll. The parenthetical text in the table is examples. If the character loses the disadvantage, they lose the bonus of rolling twice.

Disadvantage Effect
Bad Reputation at PC's name, NPCs react (anger, fear, hunt PC, etc.)
Cursed Heirloom starts with a cursed piece of equipment
Poor Sight awful vision, sight sensory checks = 5
Poor Hearing awful hearing, hearing sensory checks = 5
Eccentric Caster spells require a wild or loud somatic or verbal element
No Retreats character never ever retreats for any reason
Weakness has an affinity to some vice (alcohol, gambling)
Phobia terrified of creature, or concept, or pain, etc.
Qualm character cannot hit women, or attack behind, etc.
Reckless reckless in combat, interactions, and planning
Old Wound missing eye, limb, or has other serious wound
